CCA NC supports NC Marine Patrol Officers
CCA NC Chairman Greg Hurt, right, and Gary Roberson, center, treasurer for the Crystal Coast chapter of CCA, present Col. Jim Kelley with eight pairs of Leupold binoculars and two night vision scopes. The equipment will be used for surveillance operations by Marine Patrol officers with the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries. With only 56 officers coast wide, the Marine Patrol takes advantage of technology to better enforce regulations.
Proceeds raised by the CCA INSIDE AND OUT fishing tournament were used to purchase the equipment for the NC Marine Patrol. Additional proceeds from the tournament were also presented to the TAKE A KID FISHING FOUNDATION.
Jay Dail, Chair of the CCA Fishing Tournament, said “Our state’s Marine Patrol officers have a significant responsibility in protecting the state’s marine resources. CCA of NC appreciates their hard work and is pleased to assist them in any way we can”.
